Education

I believe learning is a simple process, if the material learned is both placed in the right perspective and made obvious to the student. From my experiences both as a tutor and student, I can attest to these being of utmost importance for effective dissemination and acquisition of the presented information by the tutor and student, respectively. I received a bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in chemistry from Clayton State University.

Experience

I tutored at the Center for Academic Success (CAS) at Clayton State University during my time at the university. While a student, I found out that if one can find a way to generalize concepts and apply them to every day experiences, then the right perspective will emerge, and will be made obvious. The most common complaint by students was a lack of understanding of the material as presented in class. In most cases, using a different approach to the problem was a sufficient solution, with considerable increase in the students performance(s) through the remainder of the semester. In general, however, I tried to remain within the confines of the subject in addition to the "perspective" approach. With both methods implemented, almost all students excelled for the remainder of the semester.
